The Beacon of Hope

The Beacon a larger scale temporary art installation based in Rye Harbour Nature Reserve was designed and constructed by Bamboology with engineering by AKTII. It was commissioned by Climate Art as part of the A Vanished Sea artist residency program funded by the Bridgepoint Arts Center.​

Here the 8m tall central tower element of that original installation was relocated to White Collar Factory, Old Street for AKTII and was part of the London Design Festival. The installation echoes the Yellow Horned Poppy and highlights the potential for high-tech design to empower low-tech, natural materials.

Longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
